Friday, May 21st, the members of Five By Design were guests of the Institute of Production and Recording. The 11:30 am seminar, led by IPR’s Adam Levy, introduced students to the members of the vocal quintet along with two a capella performances of “Too TIred” and “The Duke of Dubuque.”
The Q&A session included queries regarding Five By Design’s responsibilities in establishing a career that has spanned two decades.
Mary Jane Alm, one of IPR’s faculty, commented on FIve By Design’s vocal blend and the amount of dedication and countless hours it takes to produce a quality performance.
Jay Fleming, IPR’s digital recording guru, was on hand to provide live sound for FIve By Design. Fleming also recorded their live performance with jazz sax legend, Richie Cole at the Dakota on April 15th.
Following Levy’s interview, the members of Five By Design took questions from IPR students. We extend a big thank you to IPR for inviting Five By Design to be a part of their professional seminar.
